No organization or entity is successful without Volunteerism. Volunteers have diverse backgrounds, skillsets, and they have many things in common; they want to assist/help/inspire and uplift their fellow man. American Volunteers give back from very personal and often profound life experiences. USA Volunteer services is estimated in labor cost – $167 billion; those are economic service value numbers for your organization.

In addition to background screening, many entities require Volunteers to attend class training and acknowledge that volunteer placement is up to the organization. These added criteria have not stopped United States Citizens – that is 77.34 million adults – 30.3 percent of our population from Volunteering.

The VECHS program, allows applicants, employees, and volunteers with qualified organizations, only: access to FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) and (FBI) Federal Bureau of Investigation background criminal history reports for the purpose of screening prospective/current volunteers and employees.

Criminal history reports are necessary, some individuals are not suitable for contact with children, the elderly, or the disabled. The National Child Protection Act (NCPA) necessitates Criminal history reports as manadatory and is directed under Florida Statute 943.0542.

Procedures are available and in place to protect vulnerable populations.
